Regular handyman visits in the Cotswolds

A monthly slot in the diary. Same person every time.

Ringing round for a handyman every time a door handle falls off is nobody's idea of fun. A regular monthly slot is simpler. I turn up on the same week, work through whatever has come up since last time, and leave the house a bit more in order. No hunting for tradesmen. No explaining the layout of the house to a stranger.

Why regular is better

When you book ad hoc, three things happen. The job sits there for weeks before anyone calls. Finding someone available takes longer than the repair itself. And the person who turns up is different every time.

A regular slot solves all three. The job gets done at the next visit. The diary is already booked. And I know the house.

Always the same person

I am the business. No team, no subcontractors, no "our engineer will be with you between 8 and 1". Every visit is me. After six or twelve months that makes a real difference, especially for older customers. I know where the fuse box is. I know which door sticks in the damp. I know which drawer the batteries are in.

Who it suits

Older homeowners who would rather not manage everything themselves any more. Busy families with big houses and long lists. Second-home owners who live elsewhere and need someone keeping an eye on the Cotswold property. Small businesses. Holiday let owners with turnover wear and tear.

Three packages

Starter: two hours a month, £75. Good for smaller homes or a short monthly check-in for a relative.

Regular: four hours a month, £110. Covers most older homeowners. This is the most popular.

Premium: eight hours a month, £225. Suits larger properties, second homes, or people who want a longer visit every fortnight.

How the diary works

We fix a regular slot. First Tuesday of every month at 10am, for instance. It stays the same unless you want to change it. If there is not enough for me to do on a given month, I use the time for a maintenance walk round, or you can carry forward up to one hour.

Where I cover

Cirencester is home base. I have regular visits booked in Fairford, Lechlade, Tetbury, Malmesbury, South Cerney, Bibury, Northleach, Stow-on-the-Wold and many of the villages in between. A small mileage charge applies outside Cirencester and is included in the package quote.
