General odd jobs in Cirencester

Most households have a list. A picture that needs hanging, a curtain that keeps falling off, a loo seat that is loose, a wobbly chair, a battery in a high smoke alarm. Each one is five minutes but they never quite get done.

What is included

Anything small and non-specialist. Picture hanging, curtain poles that have come loose, a wobbly dining chair, a sticking cupboard door, a loo seat replacement, a loose banister spindle tightened, a battery swap in a high smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm, a new doormat trimmed to fit, a drawer runner straightened, a loose skirting pinned back, a key cutter visit on your behalf, a bag to the tip, a charity collection met at the door.

Bring your list. I'll do the most pressing jobs first, flag anything bigger than it looks, and give you a time for each item before I start.

What is NOT included

Bigger jobs, like repainting a room or building a wardrobe, need their own visit. I don't do electrical work. If you're not sure, send a photo of the list and I'll tell you which items fit and which need their own booking.

How long it takes

Odd-job visits usually run as a minimum one-hour slot, a two-hour slot, or a half-day. Most people find a half-day gets through eight to twelve small items, sometimes more if they are quick ones in the same room. I'll tell you during the visit how the list is pacing so you can decide what to keep and what to bump to next time.

Pricing

The first hour is £55 and includes getting to you if you're within five miles of Cirencester. It's the minimum charge, so it's worth saving up a few small jobs for one visit. After that it's £35 an hour, charged in half-hours. Got a longer list? A half day (4 hours) is £125 and a full day (8 hours) is £230.

Common questions

Is my list too long? No. Write down everything, even the small bits. I'll order them so the most time-sensitive things get done first.

What if one item turns out to be a bigger job? I'll flag it, quote you for the extra time or a return visit, and move on to the next thing on the list so the visit is still productive.

Do I need to supply the parts? Small things (batteries, basic screws, a pack of picture hooks) I carry as stock. Anything specific, like a particular loo seat or light bulb, is either supplied by you or picked up at cost.
