Keysafe installation in Cirencester
Supra C500 keysafes, approved under the police-backed Secured by Design scheme, fixed firmly into the wall in a discreet spot near your front door.
A keysafe gives family, carers, and emergency services a way into the house when you cannot get to the door. Fitted properly, on the right bit of wall, it is quiet reassurance that does not draw attention. I fit keysafes in Cirencester and the villages.
What is included
Fitting a Supra C500 keysafe, approved under the police-backed Secured by Design scheme, or a similar approved model, into solid wall at a height and spot you and I agree. Code set on fitting, tested twice, back-up key passed to you if the model has one.
I check the wall first. Brick or stone is fine. Timber cladding or a hollow panel is not, and I'll suggest a better spot. The Supra C500 is a widely used model approved under the police-backed Secured by Design scheme, and what most carers and emergency services expect to see. The cheaper keysafes from the DIY shop can be broken open with a hammer in under a minute, which rather defeats the point.
What is NOT included
A keysafe isn't a personal alarm. If you want help to reach you quickly after a fall, a pendant alarm (a button you wear) from the council or a private provider comes first. I'll happily talk that through with you.
How long it takes
A straightforward installation is usually about an hour. A more awkward position (brickwork that needs careful pilot drilling, a spot where the angle is tight) can take a little longer. Code-setting and testing is part of that time.
Pricing
The first hour is £55, which covers a standard single installation and includes getting to you if you're within five miles of Cirencester. The keysafe itself can be supplied by you (the Supra C500 is widely available to buy for around £50 to £70) or picked up at cost.
Common questions
Where is the best place to fit it? Somewhere accessible but not the obvious first place a passer-by would look. Down beside a front porch pillar, on the side of a garage that faces the front door, or under a window sill. I'll suggest options on the visit.
What if I forget the code? Keep a note of it somewhere safe indoors. If it's lost, ring me and I'll come out and sort it.
Can you change the code later? Yes, easily. I'll show you how to do it yourself on the initial fitting, and if you prefer, I can come back and do it for you.
