Odd jobs by the hour in Cirencester

Every house has a list. Back of an envelope. Note on the fridge. A scribble in the kitchen diary. Seven small things that have been waiting for someone with the right tools and a free afternoon. That is literally what I do.

The list

I have seen hundreds of them by now. A shelf that needs rehanging. A door handle wobbling. The stairwell bulb that needs the big ladder. A blind that will not pull down. A curtain pole end cap that fell off last year. A beeping smoke alarm. A bag of dead electronics for the tip. A picture on the floor since the last lot of decorating. A cupboard door at an angle.

Why hourly makes sense

No joiner is going to drive across town for a single cupboard hinge. No electrician is coming out for a light bulb. But group them together and you have an easy hour or two of steady work. You pay for time, not per job. Whatever does not fit in the first hour rolls into the second.

Not just for older people

This page is for anyone. Busy parents. Office workers who do not own a drill. Tenants who want something fixed properly before the landlord notices. People who have just moved in and are still finding their feet. Small businesses with a back room that needs a morning of attention.

What I bring

The van has most of what I need. Drill, screwdrivers, stud finder, a box of fixings, a ladder, a spirit level. You walk me through the list. I work in priority order, fastest jobs first, so the list is visibly shorter within twenty minutes. If something looks bigger than expected I will flag it before starting, so you can decide.

Typical timings

Six small jobs: about two hours. Three jobs: often under an hour. A kitchen with ten things that have built up since January: half a day. A house that has been neglected for a year and needs the full catch-up: a full day.

Pricing

£55 first hour, £35 each hour after. Half day £125, full day £230. Materials extra, always with a receipt.
