Handyman in Northleach
About ten miles north. A quiet wool town with a lot of history and a lot of old houses.
Northleach is a small town about ten miles north of Cirencester, up on the Fosse Way. It used to be one of the great wool towns and the buildings still show it. The church is extraordinary. The houses around the square are solid Cotswold stone, and many of them need the kind of regular small maintenance that keeps them comfortable.
I visit Northleach when booked. It is not an everyday trip, but when I go I usually make it worthwhile with a half-day or a full list of jobs. The people I see there are a mix of retired homeowners and families in the older cottages. The work is the usual: shelving, door adjustments, a bit of painting, draught-proofing.
Travel and pricing
Northleach is outside the free zone, so 45p per mile applies. First hour £55, then £35 an hour. A half day at £125 is usually the best fit for trips out this way.
