Handyman in Bibury
About seven miles north-east. Famous for Arlington Row, but it is also a village where people actually live.
Bibury gets a lot of visitors because of Arlington Row and the Swan Hotel, but behind the tourist traffic it is a working village with residents who need the same help as anywhere else. I visit Bibury when booked, usually combining with another stop nearby.
The properties in Bibury tend to be old. That means solid walls, good fixings, but sometimes slightly trickier access and older plumbing. I also help holiday let owners with flat-pack between guests, or a tidy-up after a property has stood empty over winter.
Travel and pricing
About 2 miles beyond my five-mile zone, so roughly £2 mileage per visit. The first hour is £55 and includes getting to you if you're within five miles of Cirencester. After that it's £35 an hour, charged in half-hours.
