Ashton Keynes is a village about six miles south of Cirencester, down towards Swindon. The Thames runs through it as little more than a stream, crossing under bridges between the cottages. It is a quiet, residential place with a good community.
I visit Ashton Keynes when booked. The jobs are the usual: odd jobs, flat-pack, shelving, smoke alarm batteries, a bit of help with something heavy. A few of my customers there are older people who appreciate having someone pop round regularly. Others are families who have a list they want dealt with in one go.
Travel and pricing
Ashton Keynes is just outside the five-mile free zone, so a light mileage charge at 45p per mile applies. It is not much. First hour £55, then £35 an hour.
